Dale Janiszeski Obituary

A graveside service for Dale Janiszeski, 65, of Marshall, will be held at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery Columbarium on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Coffee and fellowship will follow the graveside service back at the remembrance center.
Dale Henry Janiszeski was born on October 2, 1960, in Marshall, to Aloysius and Adeline (Kapolczynski) Janiszeski. He was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at a young age. Dale attended school in Marshall, graduating from Marshall High School in 1979. Dale worked at BH Electronics inspecting parts. After retiring, he would join his former coworkers for coffee and conversation.
Dale enjoyed playing cribbage on Thursdays with his friends at River Winds and on Sundays at Brau Brothers. He took first place in the cribbage tournament there last year. He said life is like a game of cribbage: You have to play the hand you are dealt.
Dale was a big fan of Oldsmobiles, especially 442s. His apartment was decorated with an extensive collection featuring a picture of his own 442. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and drag racing. In his younger years, Dale played the drums, and he always enjoyed music with strong drums.
He was always thankful for all his caregivers from Wild Rose and all the other people who helped him on his journey. Dale was a joy to work with and always had a positive attitude. Also, he greatly appreciated Meals on Wheels even though they had to send him milk. His family would also like to thank the staff at Morningside Heights for their wonderful care in the last days of Dale's life.
Dale died on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. He is survived by his brothers Kenneth and Mark and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dale requested that memorials be sent to The Muscular Dystrophy Association which did so much to help him.
