Dale and his younger sister Barbie are my only cousins on my Mother's side. Their father, Marvin, was my mother's younger brother and her childhood playmate.
I remember my cousin, Dale, as a handsome teenager who spent summers on his grandparents farm in Newton, a mile from my childhood home.
Dale went into the army for a few years. I remember his wedding to MaryAnn.
His younger sister, Barbie, was my childhood playmate at family gatherings. We played Annie Annie Over, throwing a baseball over the one story section of our grandparents house. Barbie and I rode our stick horses down the cow lane on my childhood family farm going to our ranch in the woods. She was two years older so she always led the way.
