Dale Eugene Luepke, age 90, of Oakdale, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, surrounded by family for the days preceding his death.
Dale was born on August 22, 1934, in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. A son of Herman and Anna Burmester Luepke.
Dale is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice Wellhausen Luepke. He is also survived by his three children, Ron Luepke (Karen), Sherri Dabrowski (Dave), and Larry Luepke (Mirium). He has four beautiful grandchildren who he loved very much – Kylie Godwin (Keenan), Allie Godwin, Ryan Luepke and Blake Lindley (Erica), and 3 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Gladys Heiss. In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by one great grandson, four brothers, and one sister.
Dale was dedicated to service and was always helping others. He was a service technician for Andersen Windows for over 30 years. Dale was the ultimate handy man and was always tinkering with something. His family appreciated his tireless work in his garden and sharing the bounty with others. Dale truly lived life to the fullest – retiring in his 50s, he traveled with his wife to different countries and many years to their Florida home. He loved taking photos and videos and captured many happy moments of his family and his trips.
Dale was a life member of the Oakdale Lodge No. 669 FAM,was a Shriner, and belonged to Resurrection Lutheran Church in Hankey Farms. He was a Ham Radio operator (WB3CRC) and a member of the Steel City Amateur Radio Club. Dale will be remembered for his strength and his friendly, caring attitude. His talkative manner allowed him to make friends with many strangers and he always had a story to tell or a song to sing. Dale's legacy will live on through his family with whom he instilled his hard-working ethics, and shared his sense of humor.
We take comfort that we took loving care of him as he had taken care of all of us. The family is truly grateful to the staff of Apple Blossom Memory Care who lovingly cared for Dale.
Family and friends are invited to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Road, Oakdale, PA (724-693-2800), on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
