Anita Lefebvre Ashmore, 86, of Midway passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2025 in her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Anita was born on September 14, 1938 in Midway, a daughter of the late Jules V. and Elizabeth R. DiNino Lefebvre.
Mrs. Ashmore was a Midway girl, she loved her small town that she grew up in, worked in, met the love of her life and raised her family. Anita graduated from Midway High School where she was also a cheerleader. After high school, Anita went on to graduate from the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. She later became the owner of the Beauty Shoppe in Midway and also worked as a car salesperson for McDonald Ford, Woltz and Wind and Oliverio.
Anita was also fortunate enough to meet the love of her life Billy Ashmore when they were in school. Although life took them separate ways, they rekindled their relationship later in life and were married for almost 50 years before Billy passed in 2022. Their love was infectious and you truly would never meet two people so in love with each other. They set the perfect example of what marriage should be. Through thick and thin they stood beside each other. With every hardship they grew closer and with all the joyful moments they celebrated together. One of the most joyous parts of Anitas life was watching her family grow. Anita was the perfect mother and grandma. She loved each member of her family so uniquely. She especially shared a close bond with her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them as they always kept her young. Whether attending school functions, sports events, or traveling on vacation with them, Anita was not going to miss it. Of course, she was your typically grandma always in the kitchen. She loved baking and cooking for Billy and he loved everything she made. Her grandkids were spoiled and always could count on Anita to make them their favorite dish.
Her belly laugh, infectious smile and the warmest of hugs, are all things that will be surely missed. Knowing that her Billy was waiting for her in Heaven with open arms and the best hug is the peace that Anita deserves.
Surviving are her children, Kathy L. Ashmore, Angela (Nolan) Havard, and Jennifer (Bryan) Spotti, 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, sister, Gerry (Richard) Dowler, nieces, Rita and Karissa and a nephew, Jeffery.
Along with her parents, Anita is preceded in death by her loving husband, James "Billy" Ashmore, children, James W. Ashmore, Mary K. Trussell, Adrian Ashmore, and Heather L. Greenslate.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gallagher Hospice, 1370 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15017, in memory of Anita.
