Dale Matthews Mangum

Angier, NC: Mrs. Dale Marie Matthews Mangum, age 60, of Stephenson Road passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 in Morehead City, NC. Funeral Services will be held-3:00PM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Wesley Taylor. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens in Dunn. 

Mrs. Mangum was born on April 1, 1964 in Harnett County to the late Debsel Norlynn Matthews and to Nadine Parker Matthews. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Harold Mangum and her brother, David Debsel Matthews. Mrs. Mangum grew up farming which fostered a strong work ethic and she remained hardworking her whole life. She graduated from South Johston High School class of 1982 and went on to work as an administrative assistant for many years until she decided to go back to school and pursue a career as a certified medical assistant which she loved. For over two decades she gave and gained incredible encouragement and support from very close relationships within the A.A., Al-Anon, and recovery communities. She enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, the beach, and spending time with her lifelong best friends, Tammy Witham and Angela Tate. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. 

Survivors include her mother, Nadine Parker Matthews; sister, Veta Hamm and brother-in-law, Rev. Dr. Otis Hamm; sister-in-law, Windy Matthews; step-daughter, Leeann Jones; step-granddaughter, Ashlyn Jones; and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM-2:45PM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson prior to the service and other times at the home of Otis and Veta Hamm.
