Dale Joseph Marcotte, age 86 of Columbia Heights passed away on August 10, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Jo Ann Ruth (Holscher) Marcotte and a devoted father to five children, grandfather to eight, and great grandfather to three. He was born on September 13,1938, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The son of Paul and Florence (Christensen) Marcotte. Dale attended Columbia Heights High School and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1957. He was trained as a mechanic while stationed at an Air Force Base in Japan. Throughout the years Dale was employed as a mechanic for Minneapolis Moline, White Motor Corporation, and Safetran Systems Corporation. Dale will be remembered for his wry sense of humor, big laugh, and the love he had for his family. He enjoyed camping, watching, and feeding birds, and classic westerns. In his later years, Dale turned discarded items into art through his unique birdhouse designs. Dale was preceded in death by his son, Kevin, wife Jo Ann, and grandson Zachary. Dale is survived by his daughter, Laurie (Scott) McSpadden; son, Todd (Cheryl) Marcotte, daughter, Tracy Shaffer, daughter, Paula O'Connor, and grandchildren, Joanna (Ian), Stephanie (Nathan), Samatha, Rachel, Hannah, Katrina, and Maureen; great grandchildren Kyla, Daingr, and Oskar. Funeral Service will be at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Columbia Heights, on August 22, at 10am. Visitation at 9:00. Interment is at Fort Snelling Cemetery, August 22, at 1pm. Arrival time is 12:45, Assembly Area No. 2.
