Dale E. Peck, age 79 of Peterson, IA, passed away from complications after a fall on his farm on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee, IA. Father Dan Rupp will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, IA. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. The Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee, IA, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.greenwoodfuneral.com.
Dale Ervin Peck was born on June 26, 1944, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Ronald and Mabelle (Byram) Peck.
Dale attended school in Meriden-Cleghorn and graduated in 1962. After graduation, he farmed and then attended auto body school in Omaha. Dale was married to Carma Bofenkamp on October 28, 1967. He worked as an auto body mechanic in Des Moines for two years before moving to Peterson, Iowa, in 1972 to begin farming. In addition to farming, he worked at Eaton Corporation in Spencer, Iowa, for many years. He attended electrical school at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa, and went to auctioneering school in Mason City, Iowa. He was also a truck driver for Schuster Trucking in Le Mars, Iowa.
Dale loved his family and spending time with them. He liked to be busy. He enjoyed going to auctions and looking for bargains, tinkering with anything that had a motor, and gardening.
He is survived by and will be missed by his wife Carma, daughter Angela (Steve) Campbell of Decatur, Georgia, and son Jim (Denise) Reiser of Denison, Iowa; four grandchildren, Nathan Campbell, Ashley (Josh) Hanke, Courtney Reiser, and Justin (Emily) Reiser; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Hanke, Paisley Reiser, and Lane Reiser; two sisters Pat (Norman) Van Klompenburg, and Verona Kay Turnquist; two brothers Ronald (Karen) Peck, Jr., and Richard (Janet) Peck; in-laws Mary Jo Bofenkamp, Gerald and LoAnn Bofenkamp, Mary Bofenkamp, Donna Bofenkamp; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Mabelle Peck; infant daughter Kelly Peck; granddaughter Kala Reiser; and in-laws, Dick Turnquist, Jean and Ward Allen, Arthur and Beverly Bofenkamp, Donald Bofenkamp, Albert Bofenkamp, and David Bofenkamp.
