Dale Allen Richards, of Vicksburg passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on November 16, 1941, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was the son of Jess and Viola (Geren) Richards. Dale's life was a tapestry of hard work, generosity, and love for his family and community.
Since 1962, he owned and operated Richards Sewer & Septic, a testament to his industrious nature and commitment to his profession. His dedication to his work was unwavering, as he continued to serve his clients with diligence and passion right up to a week before his passing. Relocating his family and business to Vicksburg in the 1970s, Dale made a home for himself where he could continue to provide for those in need.
He was known for his generous spirit, particularly towards the elderly and those facing challenges. His family described him as soft-hearted, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a light-hearted joke. Dale's family loved it when he made his apple raisin meatloaf and chili.
While Dale never served in the military, his patriotism was unmistakable. He loved his country deeply and celebrated that love in various ways throughout his life. Beyond his professional and familial commitments, Dale also cherished his time spent at his cabin in Colorado.
A man of diverse interests, Dale enjoyed playing cards, particularly cribbage and pitch, and engaged in hobbies such as hunting. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He enjoyed his visits to Firekeepers Casino.
As we remember Dale Allen Richards, we honor a life well-lived—a life characterized by hard work, compassion, and a sense of humor that brought smiles to many faces. He leaves behind fond memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
