GIBSON CITY - Dale E. Rueck, 61, of rural Gibson City died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, in Gibson City.
A memorial visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, June 27, at Rosenbaum Funeral Home, Gibson City. Military rites will be accorded at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans or Samaritan's Purse.
Dale was born March 2, 1963, in Gibson City, the son of Virgil E. and Beverly J. Hillary Rueck. He married Sheilla Carl on July 10, 1993, at St. Peter Free Lutheran Church in Melvin. She survives.
Along with his wife, Sheilla, he is survived by his children, Chris Mogged of Urbana and Ashley (Steve) Little of Farmer City; three grandchildren, Tucker, Reese and Taytum; a brother, Dave (Kim) Rueck of Foosland; two brothers-in-law, Bob Carl of Frisco, Texas, and Steve Carl of Aurora, Mo.; three nieces, Hannah Carl, Shelby Carl and Samantha (Randy Dalton) Rueck; and a nephew, Steve (Lana) Sample.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dale graduated from Melvin-Sibley High School in 1981. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard for 12 years. He worked as a mechanic/maintenance man for 30 years.
He loved being a mechanic and working on his many projects. Dale enjoyed working on his demo-derby car and participating in local county fairs and watching the races in his younger days. He really liked his music, primarily listening to WBGL 91.7, but also liked old rock to classic country. He liked being outdoors hunting, cutting/splitting wood or just enjoying nature.
Dale was an avid Illini basketball fan and fan of all sports and other activities his grandchildren were in! He loved God, country and family.
