Dale Delmar Schmedeke, 91, of Morrisonville, IL, passed away November 29th, 2024, in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born November 25th, 1933, in Morrisonville Illinois. Dale was the son of Frank and Sarah (Berkshire) Schmedeke.
Dale grew up in the Morrisonville/Farmersville area and lived there his entire life. He married Helen Dolores O'Brien at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville on September 3, 1956. Dale was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church since 1956. He worked for Farmer's Pellet in addition to farming and raising livestock. He enjoyed mowing and keeping an immaculate yard. Dale loved raising cattle, goats, hogs, peacocks, guineas and chickens – as well as many spoiled dogs throughout his lifetime. Most importantly, Dale loved and cherished his family. He was known for getting down on the floor to play with his grandchildren and made it a priority to hold each of his 11 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Denise M. (Mike) Millburg of Morrisonville, Debbie (John) Miller of Harvel, and Daniel (Amy) Schmedeke of Morrisonville. Grandchildren: Ryan M. (Jessica) Millburg of Farmersville, Jarrod E. (Audra) Millburg of Carlinville, Kyle N. (Ashley) Millburg of Morrisonville, Megan M. Millburg of Morrisonville, Phillip (Angie) Miller of Springfield, Bradley Miller of Nokomis, Jeffrey Miller of Farmersville, Katheryn (Chris) Dugan of Lincoln and Nicole Schmedeke of Morrisonville. Great-grandchildren: Emma, Rex, Jaxcyn, Maebre, Landon, Max, Jack, Riley, Colton, Gracelyn, and Caden.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Helen Dolores, siblings: Herb Schmedeke, Robert "Bob" Schmedeke, Marjorie Sullivan, Frank Schmedeke, Carl Schmedeke, Claude Schmedeke, Earl Schmedeke, and twin brother Gale Schmedeke.
Visitation will be held Thursday December 5th, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 304 Carlin Street, Morrisonville, Il. Funeral Mass will be held Friday December 6th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church, 706 SE 4th St Morrisonville, Illinois 62546. Burial will be held in St. Maurice Cemetery, Morrisonville, IL.
