Dale Schultz Obituary
Dale married Connie (Cruise) on June 22, 1996 at Christ Lutheran Church in Canton; she survives. Also surviving are his four children, Daniel (Lori) Schultz of Tipp City, OH, Richard (Sarah) Cadle of Gerry, NY, Jon Schultz of Knoxville, and Melanie (Mark) Hanlin of Fairview. Bridget (Joel) Gore of Peoria and Nathan Kalb of Trivoli; ten grandchildren, Melissa Schultz of Tipp City, OH, Briana (Andrew) Wharton of Minnetrista, MN, Bethany Schultz of Clearwater, FL, Matthew and Mattison Cadle of Gerry, NY, Savannah and Jaxon Schultz of Knoxville, Kelsey (Dylan Daily) Hanlin of Peoria, Emma and Alivia Hanlin of Fairview; seven great-grandchildren, Vayla, Mylen, Gio, and Saigelyn Daily, Lillian and Levi Wharton, and Willow Harn; and one sister, Donna (Toney) Xidis of DeKalb. He was preceded in death by his father, both mothers, and one sister, Diane Hollis.
Dale grew up on a dairy farm outside Bartonville. He participated in 4-H and showed Guernsey Dairy Cows throughout his childhood years. He graduated from Limestone High School in 1960 and went on to work for Keystone Steel & Wire Company for 42 years and became a private plot. Upon retiring from Keystone, Dale drove a school bus for Farmington CUSD #265. He was a member of Farmington Moose Lodge 1571, Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 832, Vintage Aircraft Association, Short Wing Piper Club and Illinois Valley Antique Automobile Club. He enjoyed restoring and flying airplanes, showing antique cars, hunting and fishing.
Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 AM – 10 AM the same day. Pastor David Swain will officiate. Burial will follow service at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
