Lovingly Written by Family
Dale D Shere Jr "Butch" left his earthly body to gain his place in heaven on April 11, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1952 in Oswego, KS to Norma Daugherty and Dale Shere in the back of a second-hand store.
Butch lived a long life of highs and Lows, but found the Lord again and became a born-again Christian.
He has many siblings from his parents, Norma Swank, Dale Shere, and his lovely bonus mom, Viola Shere. His siblings include Sandy Hancock (Eddie), Linda Peterson (Pete), Carol Smith (Phil), Billy Shere, Ronnie Swank, Pamela O'Reilly (Tim), Janet Allen (Richard), Lisa Smith (Robert), Jeff Shere (Mindy), Linda Savage (George), James Canady (Joyce), Janet Canady, Max Canady, Carol Pierce, and Juanita Phillips (Marion). Butch never saw his siblings as half, step, or whole, he loved them all the same.
He has three daughters, Sonia McGee (Albert), Mandy Shere, and Vanessa Shere, along with two bonus daughters, Samantha Proffitt (Dustin Meadows) and Kimberly Fultz (George Newberry), along with six grandchildren, Kayleb Shere (Nikey), Zachary Holt (Alysa), Kamryn Proffitt, Bristol Meadows, Sloane Meadows, and Cory Meadows. He also leaves behind his sidekick grand puppy, Mylee, who was always by his side.
Butch was a veteran of the US Army. He was a truck driver for nearly 40 years, and had lived in the four-state area the majority of his life. Some of his hobbies include wood working, collecting coins, and working with his hands.
Butch loved to make people laugh, loved Elvis Presley, and his refound love for Christ.
He is proceeded in death by his bonus mom, Viola Shere, his father, Dale Shere, along with many siblings, including Sandy Hancock, Linda Peterson, Carol Smith, Ronnie Swank, Linda Savage, James Canady, Max Canady, Janet Canady, and Carol Pierce.
Butch found and loved the Lord and praying, he will be dancing and singing in the streets of heaven with the Lord and Elvis. He wishes to be remembered by his quick wit, dry humor, and sarcasm.
We will have a graveside celebration with Military Honors at Oak Hill Cemetery in Galena, KS with Pastor Shane Dotson officiating at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
