Wegner, Dale Charles, 90, of Brooklyn Center, died peacefully on July 12, 2025. Dale was a proud veteran of the Cold War and loved sharing stories of his time in the Navy. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and blessed to be a Eucharistic Minister. Dale was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He was a prayerful man who loved God simply, faithfully, and trustingly. Dale is preceded in death by parents Elmer and Dorothy (Stangler) Wegner, brother Joseph Wegner, brothers-in-law, Joseph Nemo and James Lange, and his wife's 14 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Delores (Vavreck), six children, Ellen (Dan) Rice, Greg Wegner, Mary (John) Wollersheim, Mark (Debbie) Wegner, Katie (Jim) Freas, Dorothy (Greg) Arseneau, 18 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Dianne Nemo, Judy (Larry) Fehlen, and Joan Lange, sisters-in-law Laura Wegner and June Vavreck, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. We are very thankful to Catholic Eldercare for their extraordinarily kind and compassionate care the last six months. Visitation at Washburn-McReavy, 2901 Johnson Street NE, Minneapolis on Wednesday, July 16th from 4-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo, 2739 Stinson Blvd, St. Anthony Thursday, July 17th at 11 AM with visitation (in the church atrium) one hour prior. Interment Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Dale lived his life humbly and gratefully, and blessed so many lives with his love, humor, and generosity. Per Dale's request, please pray for him and have Masses offered for him.
