Obituary
Dalene Melva Comparette Reagan, 94, of Kerrville, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Kerrville.
She was born in Kerrville to Dale and Lena Comparette on April 1, 1930. The granddaughter of one of the founders of the Kerrville Telephone Co., she grew up visiting her grandparents in the Tivy house. She went to school at Tivy High School where she was a drum major then Stephens Girls College in Missouri before attending the University of Texas.
She married her high-school sweetheart, Robert Reagan, on August 26, 1950, in Kerrville.
As a homemaker, Dalene was an excellent cook and seamstress. Anyone who met Dalene reveled in her beauty as she was always impeccably dressed. Her daughter fondly remembers all the special one-of-a-kind outfits and dresses.
Beyond the petite beauty, Dalene was a woman of many talents and strengths. She always held her own next to her husband, Robert. Whether it be hunting, camping, or sailing, she was always up for adventure, while looking gorgeous doing it. Dalene and Robert enjoyed cruising around the world with friends while making new friends and memories along the way. They were proud Longhorn Alumni and enjoyed attending home games in Austin. Dalene and Robert were devoted parishioners. Throughout the years, amongst her church families, Dalene enjoyed singing in the church choirs.
They spent many trips in Mexico with family and friends John and Brenda Fleckenstein, Emily Bush.
As the granddaughter of one the founding members of the Kerrville Telephone Company, she served on the Board of Directors as well as the Peterson Regional Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors (2008-2009).
Dalene and Robert helped to establish various scholarship programs for Schreiner College.
Dalene will be greatly missed by her family and friends. However, we find peace and joy knowing she is reunited with Robert, the love of her life.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Eugenia Montero, beloved caregiver and friend for her almost 30 years working for Robert and Dalene, especially the last 5 years of dedicated love, and personal care.
Dalene Reagan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
Survivors include her daughter, Deree Reagan; grandsons, Alex McGlocklin (his wife Araceli McGlocklin) and Ty Griffith; and great-grandchildren, Alexander McGlocklin Jr. and Alessandra McGlocklin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 24, 2024, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Reverend Bert O. Baetz III officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alex McGlocklin, Ty Griffith, John Fleckenstein and John Fleckenstein II.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all caregivers, friends and family.
