Daljit Singh grew up in a big family which migrated from Lehnda Punjab to Charda Punjab during 1947. He was the youngest of 7 children. His father's name was Sohan Singh and mother's name was Sewa Kaur. Daljit Singh trusted Waheguru above anything in this life. His love for the Guru was immense and his trust in the Guru unwavering. He passed on his love to everyone around him. He would stop and talk with everyone on his morning and evening walks. He made friends with young and old. Daljit Singh loved doing Nitnem in the morning. He went to the Gurdwara every single day. He loved gardening. In his backyard, he grew all kinds of fruits and vegetables. He loved doing Seva (selfless-service). Whether at the Gurdwara, a Nagar Kirtan or someone's program at their house, you could find him helping make and serve langar. He loved the servants of the Guru, including paathis, laangris, sevadaars. He loved having his morning and afternoon tea. He loved eating hot rotis right off of the stove. He was a great chef. He knew how to make all kinds of Punjabi foods. Daljit Singh loved his wife and children. We are all lucky to have known him and hope to continue his legacy through the love we share with everyone around us.
