Dallas Gregory

Dallas Gregory passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021 at the age of 96, and went to be with his Lord. He was born January 27, 1925 in Eden, West Virginia.

Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Elizabeth Frances; and his sons, Thomas and Michael. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Dennis); and his son, Gary (Angela); as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His family was the joy of his life and his devotion to them is one of his lasting legacies. There was no better Dad, Gramps or Great Grandpa than Dallas, and his family will miss him greatly.

Dallas spent more than 40 years as a valuable employee at Firestone Tire & Rubber. After his retirement, he joined the staff at Summit County for another seven years. Dallas was also a member of the Masons and, in December of 2021, he received his award for 75 years of service. All those who knew him recognized that he was a man of commitment and integrity. From his professional life to his friendships and family, Dallas would help those in need, at any time with no questions asked. His generosity of spirit, humility and kindness served as an example to all. Dallas loved to putter around the house. He was a fixer and a helper to anyone who needed him. He loved his family homestead in West Virginia. Most of all, he loved his family, who will always try to live up to his example and love each other in the way that he so beautifully taught them.

Funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 17th at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. in Wadsworth, with Pastor Don Ebert officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks will be required. Private burial will take place in Gregory Cemetery in West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 College St., Wadsworth, OH 44281.
