Dallas Earl Maxwell

Born: January 30, 1939 | Died: December 19, 2025

Dallas Earl Maxwell of Maryville passed away on December 19, 2025, with his family by his side after brief illnesses. Dallas was born January 30, 1939, in Madisonville to Earl and Ethelene Maxwell. He graduated from Madisonville High School in 1957 before attending Hiwassee College. Dallas owned and operated Madisonville Gulf before working for L&N Railroad. Dallas was a member of the 25-year club at ALCOA where he worked in the South Plant Electrical Department for 32 years. He served as the Vice President and President of USWA Local 309 before retirement. Dallas also served in the Air National Guard refueling division and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed building classic Mustangs and numerous Ford Street Rods and Customs. His talent and fine workmanship earned him numerous national awards. Dallas enjoyed camping and traveling the country in different RVs over the last 55 years. Many of his most cherished memories were from camping with his family in Pigeon Forge and Myrtle Beach. Dallas was an active member of Fairview Methodist Church since 1971.

He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ethelene Maxwell; brother Ray Maxwell all of Madisonville; Father and mother-in-law James and Dicie French of Greenback and several cousins. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Wanda French Maxwell of Maryville; Son and daughter in law, David and Diane Maxwell and his pride and joy, his only granddaughter Lauren Maxwell all of Seymour; Sister in law Helen Maxwell of Madisonville; Nephews and nieces Collins Maxwell, Betsy Maxwell West, Jim and Linda French, Nancy Grinder, Donna Jenkins, Betty Jo Kirkland, Carol Hodge, Linda Ball and John French; Special cousins Steve and Willa Maxwell of Madisonville and Donna Maxwell Casteel of Englewood.

Dallas will be missed for his wisdom, talent, stories, and caring heart from his family and friends.

Special thanks to Morningview Transitional Care Center and Gentiva Hospice for their care. The family will receive friends Monday, December 22 from 5:00-7:00 with the funeral to follow at McCammon Ammons Funeral Home in Maryville with Dr. Jerry Russell and Rev. Gilbert Harris officiating.
