Doran Maxwell Obituary
In 1947, Doran married the love of his life, Pauline Annette, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned nearly eight decades. Together they raised five sons: Doran "Jim," Brent, Bart, Warren, and Paul. Doran worked for the City of Davis, California, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring. After retirement, he and Pauline eventually made their home in Sun City West, Arizona.
Doran was a creative builder and skilled woodworker, a classic car enthusiast, and a gifted storyteller who could captivate anyone lucky enough to listen. His love of stories culminated in the publication of his autobiography last year-a lasting legacy in his own words.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three older sisters; and his sons Paul and Warren.
Doran is survived by his beloved wife Pauline; his sons Jim, Brent, and Bart; all four of his grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who cherished him dearly.
Doran was always full of life-kind, funny, generous, and loving. He touched the lives of many, and his stories, laughter, and spirit will live on through all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at a currently undetermined future date.
