Dallas McCurry, 93, of Littlefield, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on March 3, 1932, in Littlefield, Texas to Robert and Vergie McCurry.

Dallas graduated from Littlefield High School in 1949. In his younger years, he served our country in the United States Army. Dallas went on to marry Billie Redwine on June 22, 1952, in Progress, Texas. After, he spent his years working as a farmer and a mechanic. He was definitely a jack of all trades. Furthermore, he was a cotton farmer for the majority of his life. He loved to grow and produced crops from wheat, cotton, maize, grain, peanuts, and sunflowers. Anything that could survive the West Texas weather, Dallas was sure to prove to himself that he could grow it. He loved John Deer tractors and had a knack for fixing them. Agriculture was one of the many loves in his life that kept him going. Dallas was on the Co-Op board of directors for the Speck Gin. In addition to that, he also served as president for 29 years for the Lamb County Electric Co-Op. Dallas was also on the board of directors for Texas Farm Bureau for several years. He was always willing to lend a hand to a neighbor in need. His work experience did not stop with farming agriculture. Dallas was ambitious and also attended South Plains college, where he then got his broker license in real estate. Being a mechanic was another hobby that Dallas enjoyed. The delight he got from rebuilding and selling 1967-1969 Cameros was comparable to the successful production of crops.

Quiet and reserved are both characteristics of Dallas, which will forever be remembered. He was such a great listener and observer of all things. Even in his later years, there was nothing Billie could say or do that Dallas was not attentive to. If she was making a simple trip to the grocery store, Billie was sure to have her shopping partner at her side. Dallas was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Littlefield.

Those left to cherish his memory are his dear wife Billie McCurry of Littlefield, Texas; two sons, Eddie McCurry and wife Cari of Littlefield, Texas, and Danny McCurry and wife Teresa of Stratford, Texas; one daughter, Denese Shrum and spouse Don of Richmond, Texas; eight grandchildren, Christopher Findley of Conroe, Texas, Heather Tackett of Iola, Texas, David McCurry of Lubbock, Texas, Deric McCurry of Longview, Texas, Nicole Shelley of Littlefield, Texas, Justin McCurry of Moscow, Kansas, Cory McCurry of Chicago, Illinois, and Hannah McCurry of Stratford, Texas; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vergie McCurry; his three brothers; his two sisters; and his two grandchildren, Danielle McCurry and Randy McCurry.

Funeral services for Dallas McCurry will be held at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Littlefield, Texas with Pastor Tanner Wilson officiating. Visitation service is scheduled for 6:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas. Interment will be in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery.
