Sarah Ann McCurry, age 83, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Center on Aging and Health. A native of Poplar, NC, Sarah is a daughter of the late Park and Sue Ella (Laughren) Barnett and a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading.
Sarah Ann McCurry has left behind to cherish her memory: her beloved husband of 40 years, Freddy Mack McCurry; children: David Hensley (Noella), Melanie Gillenwater (Roy), Randy Hensley (Mari), Darren Hensley, and Danny Hensley; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings: AJ Barnett and Dot Cooper, Everett Barnett and Peggy Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Sarah Ann McCurry in a committal service to be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in the mausoleum chapel at Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Brian Campbell and Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Heavenly Davidson. Those who wish to attend the service should meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 am on Wednesday.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Center on Aging and Health for their loving care during Sarah's time there.
