"Dallas Jerry Rose, age 87, of Granite City, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 28th, 2025.

He was born on August 31st, 1938, in Springerton, IL, the youngest son of Willard and Mary Evelyn (Rockett) Rose. He enjoyed spending quality time with his Family and was a shining star on the football field as he played for his hometown team, The Fairfield Mules.

Jerry married the love of his life, Dolores Coramae Keck, on January 21st, 1962. She survives. He was a dedicated employee at McDonnell Douglas from 1964 to 1998. During his 34 years with the company, he traveled extensively around the globe and worked on many important projects including the Harrier AV-8B.

Jerry and Dolores built their Family and their lives revolved around their 3 children. He coached Little League baseball, helped out coaching Little Rascals Football and attended every activity with enthusiasm, making sure that all who participated had fun and learned how to work together as a team. He could be seen on many a sports field cheering on players to make sure they knew he was rooting for them. He loved having Family gatherings and participating in Family Reunions, always remembering a funny story to share and make a lasting memory for all in attendance.

Jerry was a lifelong fan of his two favorite teams out of Chicago-The Bears and The Cubs. He always cheered them on to be successful and enjoyed their ups and downs as he watched from the sidelines. He knew a great deal about sports and could recount any stat that mattered.

Jerry was a devoted Christian and took great joy in worshipping in his home church, Pontoon Beach Church of Christ, where he faithfully served as Deacon and Elder, delivering Communion to shut ins. He lent his glorious voice to lead the church choir and sang with all of his heart, all of the time. He recently became a part of the worship Family at Central Christian Church in Granite City and enjoyed attending their service.

Jerry also was a dedicated Grandfather, showering his Grandchildren with time, love and caring as he traveled many miles across the country to take them on vacations and make frequent visits to make many lifelong memories. He always remembered everyones birthday, every holiday...sending gifts and well wishes across the miles just to make all feel special. Countless trips were made to their best-loved spots including Branson, The Ozarks, Virginia and Arkansas as they visited special places with Family and made many lasting memories while enjoying the local sights and beautiful country.

The beloved Father is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Dolores Rose; Son Chris (Patty) Rose of Granite City; Daughter Tracie (Barry) Grote of Granite City; Daughter in Law Kim (Martin) Rose of Midlothian, VA. Five Grandchildren: Andrew (Lauren) Rose, Allison Rose, Dane Grote, Abby (Cory) Broughton, Lexi Grote. One Great Grandchild: Evelyn Broughton. One Sister: Nancy Mayes.

Jerry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Willard and Mary Evelyn Rose; Beloved Son Martin Rose; Dear Siblings Donald Rose, Billy Rose and Marguriete Rose.

In lieu of flowers, the Family asks that you support either of Jerrys favorite charities…(www.buddyfund.org) provides support for under privileged kids to be able to participate in sports and The Granite City APA (www.gcapa.org) is the local animal shelter that cares for homeless cats and dogs.

A private Family service will be held at a later date."
