Dallis Calvin Davis

Dallis Calvin Davis, 84, of Elkton, passed away December 5, 2025 at his home. Mr. Davis was born January 8, 1941 in Rockingham County near Port Republic, and was the son of the late Hurdle Calvin and Pauline Odessa Hensley Davis.
Mr. Davis was an Elkton High School graduate, and served our country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1965. He was an avid hunter growing up and loved NASCAR especially Bill Elliott. He enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies and played softball for many years on teams in Harrisonburg and Keezletown, and loved riding around his farm on his golf cart. He worked at Westinghouse for a number of years, and retired from Merck & Co after many years of service. He was a faithful husband, a wonderful father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by all those who loved him.
On September 6, 1968, he married, Brenda (Breeden) Davis who survives. Also surviving are a son, Daniel Davis and wife, Vicky, their children, Heather Davis, and her child, Kaliyah Faith Davis, Zach Davis and fiancée, Heather, and their children, Olivia and Brianna Davis; Timmy Davis; adopted daughter, Lisa Davis; special granddaughter raised in the home, Brittany Davis Hensley and fiancée, Michael Tyndall, and Brittany's boys, Gage Hensley, Zane Davis; great-grandson raised in the home, Kaiden Davis-Breeden and companion, Jurnee Meadows and her child, Ariella Smith; brothers, Welford Davis and wife, Thelma, Larry Davis and wife, Shirley; a sister, Gail Davis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Hawse, Jerry Davis; his father and mother-in-law, Alvie and Zelda Breeden; a sister-in-law, Janice Cook.
Pastor Mark Leatherman will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton, the casket will remain closed. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Sentara Hospice for their wonderful care, and to Priority Transport, who fulfilled his last request by bringing him home.
