Dallis Lamar Jenkins, a cherished member of the Perry, FL community, peacefully passed away on September 29, 2024, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Born on May 14, 1939, Dallis brought joy and love to all who knew him, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Dallis was a man of many passions and talents. He found solace and joy in the simplicity of life, spending his days fishing in the tranquil waters, intricately carving wood with precision and care, and reveling in the thrill of the hunt. These pursuits brought him immense happiness and filled his life with purpose.
Having earned a High School Diploma, Dallis joined the Navy and dedicated his career to electrical maintenance, serving diligently in the City of Vero Beach. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and his contributions to the community were immeasurable.
Dallis was preceded in death by: his parents John Mack Jenkins and Sybil Archer, two brothers Danny and Jerry Jenkins, his sister Wanda Brantley, son in law Ray Harold Smith and his infant brother Donald Ray Jenkins.
Dallis is survived by his beloved spouse, Jo Ann Jenkins, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Their bond was one of unwavering support and devotion, a testament to the strength of their partnership.
In honor of Dallis Lamar Jenkins's life and legacy, funeral services and ceremonies will be held at Calvary Baptist church in Perry, FL., on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM to celebrate his memory and pay tribute to the impact he had on all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched. May his spirit rest in peace.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Jo Ann, sons Dallis Joel Jenkins and his wife Maria, Dennis Richard Jenkins, two daughters Teresa Taylor and her husband John, and Debra Gable and her husband Randy, brothers John Mack Jenkins Jr., Alfred Steven Jenkins, Jay Matthew Jenkins, Samuel Archer, Timothy Archer, and Mike Archer, sisters Allie Jean Lavalle, Sheila Blue, Marilyn Green, Pam Archer, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
