Snow Hill-Dalton Leroy Grant, Sr., 76, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2024 at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Dalton was born in Wayne County to the late Leroy and Dorothy Kennedy Grant on September 2, 1947.
Working with T.A. Loving Construction laying pipe, Dalton was a faithful employee for 34 years until his health declined. An avid Tar Heel fan, he was always cheering them on.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
Dalton is survived by his children, Dalton Grant, Jr. and Mary Daw; grandchildren, Xavier Jarman and Angel Daw; sister, Olga "Pebbles" Brown; girlfriend of 21 years, Christine Owens; and aunt, Hazel Snead.
