Damon Clare Newcomb

Damon Clare Newcomb, 75, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday February 27th, with his devoted wife Jackie Brown at his side.

Damon was born on September 22nd 1950 to Williams and Alice Newcomb from Poland, Maine who proceeded him in death.

Damon received an undergrad degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Maine and later received his Master's in Counseling Psychology from Frostburg State University, Maryland, in 1994 where he met Jackie. He had several counseling positions before retirement, including Bedford Mental Health and Green Ridge. His most loved people to counsel were youths and veterans.

Damon was an avid gardener who grew his own hot peppers on his deck and made exquisite hot sauce. He was also a worm farmer and created vermicompost that grew amazing plants. He adored dogs; he and Jackie adopted several four-legged family members from the local animal shelters over the years.

Thanks go out to good friends who helped him during his almost nine-year journey in dialysis. Jan and Terry Charlton and Paul Charney his dialysis "taxi drivers" and the outpatient dialysis staff and transport staff at UPMC Western Maryland who he named his "second family" were all outstanding in their care for him. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends in Maryland, Maine, Arizona and England.
