Dan Anthony Cavalier Sr

On September 22,1953 Dan Anthony Cavalier Sr was born to Harry and Anna Cavalier. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, La where he attended and graduated from Francis T Nichols High school. And later enrolled in Delgado community college for architecture. While perusing his education He worked for Arthur Shineys floral shop and then later became a foreman at Sewerage and waterboard until his injury on the job… It was not until 1975 when he met the love of his love life Shirley Smith, which they later married on June 5,1976 and with that union they had 5 children Acacia, Dan Jr, Ronald Sr, Johnathan, and Richard. He was a lifelong member of St Mary's of the Angels (St. Josephine Bakhita) church, a member of the church choir and the eucharist ministries. Dan was a great man of God who was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, son and friend. On February 1, 2026, Dan Anthony entered eternal rest at the age of 72. He leaves to mourn his wife Shirley, 3 children Acacia, Ronald Sr, Johnathan (Lisa) grandchildren Daniel, Lan, Akayla, Nyangel, Ronaisha, Cheyenne, Keion, Eden, Ronald Jr., Janai, Karon and Kaliyah (Kentrell) and great granddaughter Kali. Four brothers David (Geri) Gregory (Elaine) Gerald and Terry. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Proceeded in death his two sons Dan Jr and Richard. His parents, Harry and Anna and one brother, Jeffery Harris. Dan was a great influence on everyone's paths he'd crossed. He was Loved by many! For that Dan will truly be missed. He's now rejoicing with his Father in Heaven. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, February 14, 2026, for 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakhita Catholic Church, 3501 N. Miro Street, New Orleans, LA 70117.
