Dan J. Hiller, 80
Dan J. Hiller, 80 of Ashland passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 in his home.
He was born on May 18, 1945 in Ashland the son of the late Ora and Phyllis (nee Latter) Hiller.
Dan graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1963. He married the former Kathryn Brecheisen on December 4, 1981.
Dan was a farmer all of his life and was a Moews seed corn salesman for ten years. Along with farming, he was employed as a union carpenter with the Mansfield local #735 for more than 20 years.
He was attending Calvary Baptist Church and a previous member of Grace Brethren Church. Dan served as the sextant of Chestnut Grove Cemetery for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's events.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathy Hiller of Ashland; three children, Christina (Scott) Fisher of Ashland, Molly (Nate) McKean of Pullman, West Virginia, and Joshua (Stephanie) Hiller of Ashland; nine grandchildren, Kersti (Matt) Carmichael of Louisville, Thomas Chait of Ashland, Braxton and Hadley McKean, and Lillian, Zachary, William, Gracelyn, and Jonathan Hiller; and a brother-in-law, George Bringman of Ontario.
In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by one brother, Ed (Sharlene) Hiller; and one sister, Sonja Bringman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Harry Strachan presiding. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 210 Davis Road, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or the Ashland County Junior Fair, 2042 Claremont Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
