Daniel T. Langdon Sr., 81, a lifelong area resident, died October 23, 2023, at the Grand Rehab. & Nursing at River Valley in Poughkeepsie after a long illness.
Born on November 9, 1941, in Fishkill, Dan was the son of Floyd and Dorothy Shook Langdon. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.
Dan worked at IBM in East Fishkill for many years until his retirement.
Mr. Langdon enjoyed camping in his RV, playing golf, woodworking, and when he was healthier, spending winters in Titusville, Florida. In his younger years, he was active in local drum corps groups.
On April 1, 1967, in Wappingers Falls, he married the former Carol Corbin. Mrs. Langdon survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Dawn Nedin and husband, Keith, of Poughkeepsie, and Tammy Mahoney and husband, David, of Staatsburg; son, Daniel Langdon Jr. and wife, Dee, of Poughkeepsie; seven grandchildren, Brittney Roe, Jonathan Nedin (Julianna), Mathew Nedin, Justin and Jason Langdon, Sierra Mahoney, and Elizabeth Pectle (Jacob); and one great grandson, Sebastian DeFreitas.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Howard and Ronald Langdon; and sister, Patricia Lease.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 PM, Saturday, October 28th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Sunday, October 29th at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in New Hackensack Cemetery, Rte. 376, Wappingers Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the Langdon family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. (www.cancer.org)
