Dan Edward Middleton

Dan (Danny) E. Middleton, 76, of Fort Ashby, passed away on December 27, 2025 with his family by his side.
Born in Frostburg, MD, he was the son of of the late Alec and Belva (Skidmore) Middleton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Irvin K. Middleton, and niece Christie Vanderberg.
After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served a tour in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He achieved the rank of Specialist 4th class and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.
He worked hard all of his life starting from working on the farm as a kid, working construction, having his own lawn care business for 7 years, working his own computer repair business to building his own house to helping others when he could. He wasn't afraid of hard work. However, he always made time to go hunting and fishing with his son, his grandsons, and his friend, Roy.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen (Brown) Middleton, son Alan, Augusta, WV, daughter Cheryl and son in law Andrew Upwright, Kearneysville, WV, grandsons Daulton and Samuel Middleton, Burlington, WV. He is also survived by several cousins and nephews.
Although life hit him hard at times, he didn't let it keep him down. He loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandsons. He was a wonderful husband, Dad and Grampy.
