Dan Paul Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Family Funeral Home - Pensacola on Oct. 22, 2024.
Dan Gilden Paul, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully October 21, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born October 29, 1940, in New Orleans, LA to Hosea and Dolly Paul and raised in Opp, Alabama. He graduated from Opp High School. He met a beautiful young lady named Becky while working in Century, Florida and they were married for 63 years.
Dan worked for Frito-Lay for 33 years before retiring in 1995. He loved his church family and was a devoted member of Bellview Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and head of the Stewardship Committee. Dan was also a member of the Masonic Order and Shriners International.
While raising 4 children with Becky, he would spend countless evenings and weekends coaching and supporting his children with their athletic interests at both Bellview and Brent Athletic Parks. His love of athletics was extended in his most cherished role as "Paw Paw" to his grandchildren.
Most mornings, Dan could be found visiting with his friends at the local coffee shop aka "Whataburger". His passion outside of his family and church was fishing. His "happy place" was on the Tensaw River in Baldwin County, Alabama. He also enjoyed genealogy.
Dan is preceded in death by his wife, Becky, and parents, Hosea Paul and Dolly Walker.
Dan is survived by daughters, Kim and Charlotte (Michael); sons, David (Aurora) and Jeff (Deanna); his grandchildren: Cameron, Olivia, Brooke, Beau (Christi), Jackson, Griffin and Madelyn; and one great-grandson, Teddy. He is also survived by his "brothers" in-law, Bruce (Cynthia) and Michael (Karen); and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Please join us in celebrating his life Saturday morning, October 26th, at Bellview Baptist Church, where he has been a member for many years, located at 4750 Saufley Field Road, Pensacola, Florida 32526. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the service begins at 11:30AM, with Bro. Steve Bruce officiating. Dan will be laid to rest immediately after the service in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the "I Love My Church" fund at Bellview Baptist Church 4750 Saufley Field Road, Pensacola, FL 32526 or www.BellviewBaptistPensacola.com.
