Daniel D. Rupe, known affectionately as Dan, Stan, or even the Stanimal, passed away on January 5, 2026. Born in
Ogden, UT, on December 1, 1969, to parents Julie and Richard Rupe, Dan lived a life marked by wit, intelligence, and a deep love for his family and friends. He was a man of many talents, admired for his quick humor, and respected for his dedication to personal growth and learning. As the American author Henry Ford said, "Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty," and Dan truly exemplified this spirit of perpetual youth through his constant pursuit of knowledge.
Dan was a master butcher by trade, honing his skill in grocery for 15 years. Yet, his talents extended far beyond his occupation. He was a gifted drummer, playing in numerous bands and sharing his love for music with his beloved wife, Deana, whom he married on April 9, 2005. Together, they made not just music, but a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Dan was also a loving father, who found joy in simple moments like planting flowers with his daughter, Danika. His interests were as varied as they were profound - from making models and studying World War II history to exploring the various cities he called home, including San Diego, California, Phoenix, and Kingman, Arizona.
In addition to his wife Deana and daughter Danika, Dan is survived by his parents, Richard and Julie Rupe; his sister, Kallie Rupe; his brother, Bart; his son, Bodie Greer; and his stepson, Brandon Turk. He also leaves behind his nieces, Nylsen Cherry, Brittany Rupe, and Hayden Rupe; his nephews, Tyler Rupe, and Jake Rupe; and his in-laws, Diane and David Turk. His life was also enriched by the love and companionship of his sister, Sharnell LeBlanc. Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Dale Rupe, Arta Lamb, Joseph Lamb, and Levere Chambers.
A service to honor and remember Dan's life will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 6:00pm MST at Myers Mortuary in
Roy, Utah. This will be followed by a celebration of his life at 7:00pm MST at the same location.
As we remember Dan, we remember a man who was smart, loving, witty, and immensely talented. In the words of Calvin Coolidge, "No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave." In this spirit, we remember Dan not just for who he was but for what he gave - a lifetime of love, laughter, and learning.
