Dana Crawford Booth - Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Dana was born September 21,1938 in Providence, Rhode Island during a hurricane that was historically recorded as "A Wind to Shake the World." Dana did go on to categorically influence everyone that was privileged to know him. His family moved to Detroit, Michigan where he continued to live in the vicinity being a Lions, Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings fan for the entirety of his life. His humor, wisdom, and generosity were just some of the undeniable qualities for which he will be remembered.

Dana pursued several hobbies that enlivened and inspired others. Anyone visiting his home remembers him as an avid gardener with an eclectic collection of native plants and vegetables. He was an experimental photographer who pursued classes and photo groups as a creative outlet. He won several awards for his photography at the Michigan State Fair as well as entries and distinctions at the Scarab Club in Detroit. He also loved trains, skiing, running, building models and riding his motorcycle.

Dana dearly loved his wife, Carol, whom he married in 1958. He was a devoted father and father-in-law to Dana and Jennifer Booth, Robert and Jill Booth, Sandy and Kevin Schaal, Paul Booth, Gwendolyn and Fred Bielicki, and Edy and Jason Gies. He was a caring grandfather to Joshua, Ryan, and Christina Booth, Stephen and Stephanie Booth, Eric, and Hadley Booth, Kristopher and Elise Schaal, Rosemary and Brady Cox, Emily and Jared Wermager, Zackary and Paige Schaal, Nathanael and Jessica Schaal, Stephanie Booth, Sai Darkwood, Hannah and Alex Hara, and Logan Gies. He was an attentive great-grandfather to Ansel, Anaya, Felicity, Molly, Klayton, Ivan, Lucy, Jane, Madelynn, Clara, Noah, Maylen, and Artemis. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Hull and Jane Booth, both of whom he adored.

Dana was a skilled machinist at INCOE Corporation where he was a shop foreman for a while, a CNC mill operator, and a CNC machine programer. Co-workers fondly describe him as a knowledgeable and considerate mentor. Dana retired in 2008 where he was personally honored by the CEO and administration for his many years of craftsmanship.

Dana was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Troy for over 70 years where he served as an Awana game leader, supported Christian education, and participated in various ministries including a mission trip to Mexico in 1970.
