She is survived by her mother, Etta M. Dowds of Hanna City; her 2 nieces, Jamie (Barry) Simpson of Creve Coeur and Jessica Bridgman of Chateaugay, New York; her nephew, Joshua Dunbar of Bellevue; her best friend, Kathy Oakes of East Peoria; two great nieces, Emilie and Cali; and her beloved dog, Ellie Mae.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Dowds and her sister, Patricia.
Dana worked as a supply chain manager at Supply Chain Services International in Peoria and helped manage Oak Crest Stables. She found her greatest joy in animals.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to TAPS in Pekin. Online condolences may be left at www.GaryDeitersFH.com.
