Dana Habeck Obituary

Obituary of Dana Joy Habeck
Joy was the perfect middle name for Dana Habeck. She lived her life to the fullest. Traveling gave Dana many wonderful experiences and memories which she loved to share! Whether it be traveling to exotic places like Thailand, or exploring the United States as far away as Hawaii. Also important were the closer to home glamping getaways with dear friends. Dana had a diverse extended family and network of friends, and she loved them ALL. Her enthusiasm for the Green Bay Packers, board and card games, all of her colorful accessories, helping Dr. O's patients, and spending time with neighbors, friends and family were her greatest joys. She helped in whatever way she could even if it was simply being present to laugh or cry alongside you. She had a big heart and will surely be missed. She already is.
Dana was born on October 26, 1964, in Wausau, WI to Dale and Barbara Habeck. She was the youngest of their six daughters. Dana graduated from D.C. Everest HIgh School in Schofield, WI where she was active in music and theatre as well as an active member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church community. Dana completed an Associates Degree in LaCrosse WI, and then moved to Minneapolis, MN. While working full time, Dana went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing with Magna Cum Laude honors from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. Dana loved and was proud of her 18 years working with Dr Olson at Nokomis Chiropractic as the Office Manager running both the clinic and massage center. Dr. Olson, known as Dr. O, described Dana very well... "Dana's beautiful, loving, caring, witty and funny personality, bright pink outfits and her collection of glasses will be missed beyond anything words could ever express."
Dana 60, died on January 23, 2025 in her home due to complications from walking pneumonia. It is still shocking.
Dana Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Barbara Habeck. Dana is survived by her five sisters, Debbie (Dr. Timothy) Freeman, Diane Dicke, Donele (Darrell) Parrish, Darla (Ricardo) Pardo, Darsi (Michael) Anderson, 7 nieces, 6 nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews and many other relatives. Dana is also survived by her dear, dear friends that are far too many to name. You all were special to Dana. Thank you.
The family requests the honor of your presence on Saturday, February 8th, at 1 p.m., for a memorial service at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1720 E Minnehaha Pkwy, Minneapolis with Pastor Jay Carlson presiding. Immediately following the service, a reception with light refreshments will be served in the lower level of Holy Cross until 3:15 p.m. Those who would like to continue to visit and remember Dana plan to gather at Arbeiter Brewing Company, 3038 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, where Dana was a Founding Member and investor.
Any expressions of sympathy may be brought to the memorial funeral service, or sent to Darsi Anderson, 701 E 61 st St, Minneapolis, MN 55417. In addition to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, other memorial options are Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People at https://veap.org/ or the Down Syndrome Association Minnesota at https://dsamn.org/.
Another celebration of Dana's life will be held in Wausau, WI later this spring. Details to follow.

My deepest condolences to the family of Dana. I just met Dana less than a year ago as she was the one who hired me at Nokomis. She was very patient, respectful and good humor. I loved her sense of style and hearing stories of memories with her sisters. She is and will be missed but always remembered. Rest in love and peace Dana.
