Dana Myers Obituary

Dana Myers, age 44 of Florence, passed away on September 18, 2025 surrounded by her family. Services for Dana will be held on Monday, September 22 at 3:30 at Elkins Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-3:30. Burial will immediately follow the services at Greenview Memorial Gardens.

Dana lived a life that we should all learn something from. She never judged, she saw the happy in every encounter she made and she carried the presence of Jesus with her at all times. Dana's biggest concern was just how many hugs she could accumulate in a room full of people and most definitely maintaining being the center of attention in that room. She laughed with her mouth wide open without fear of what others would think. If she was excited, you knew it. She danced in places most of us would never dream of dancing and she danced alone without a care, she never met a stranger. She could change an entire days mood with a series of soft kisses or wrapping her pinky finger around one of yours. You'd very rarely get the full hand of Dana though as her "pretties" were her prized possession and she would show you that she could in fact be mean if you were to mess with them. I often wondered what holding her little hand must feel like though I'd almost never have that chance. Her little pinky was enough. Her "hmm hmms" "hi dee dos" and "oh me's" were her language and although only 3 words she used them in various situations each with a different meaning, a high pitched "hi dee do" most certainly meant you were in trouble. On rare occasion Dana would tell you to "listen" and when the word "listen" came out of that tiny little mouth, grown men would stop to do just that. She meant business.... in the sweetest most pure way that business can be meant. To know Dana is to love Dana and those who knew her are truly lucky to have experienced the presence of one of God's earthly angels. We should all live like Dana. We would like to thank her caregivers "Neese" and Tosha for their love and care as well as preferred hospice for their compassion during such a fragile time. Dana loved you all.
