Danette "Sunee" Lorelei Lau-Ross, 60, of Kihei, Maui, Hawai i, passed away on October 13, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on July 20, 1965, in Wailuku, Maui, Sunee was the beloved daughter of Daniel "Danny" Ah Lun Lau and the late Ramona "Mona" Rosario Lau. She graduated from Baldwin High School and went on to become an amazing mother, crafter, and driver.
Sunee was known for her big heart, her unwavering faith in God, and her constant willingness to help others. She loved dancing-especially TikTok dances-crafting her signature holiday wreaths, cooking, and making desserts. She cherished time with her family at the beach and on travels, and she especially enjoyed watching Thai dramas.
Sunee is survived by her husband of 15 years, Garrett Ross; her children: Tasana-Rae Lasco (Jennifer Magaoay), Moses Lasco Jr. (Tiffany Bedoya), Kainalu Lasco (Aliyah Marrison), and Lhondyn Lau-Ross; and her grandchildren: Klayston, Kaejalyn, Karsten, and Kashtyn Bedoya-Lasco. She leaves behind many hanai children who were embraced as family and deeply cherished, everyone held a special place in her heart; and her former husband, Moses Lasco, with whom she shared 23 years and their children.
She leaves behind her beloved siblings: Daniel Lau III; Darylann (Heath) Smith of Illinois; Catarina "Maylin" (Michael) Akahi; Monayen (Anthony) Fodera of Nevada; Jessica Lau; and Gabrielle Lau of Colorado.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Keopuolani Park – Upper Level. This will be a casual, potluck-style gathering filled with love, laughter, and shared memories.
Philippians 4:6 (NLT) - "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done."
