Dani Herring Obituary
Dani L. Herring, 35, of Tiffin, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Family will greet guests from 9:30am-11:00am, prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Herring Family in care of Lisa Herring.
Born with significant disabilities and complex health needs, Dani faced challenges from the very beginning of her life. She was adopted by Bob and Linda Herring who were told that Dani likely would not live beyond the age of five, yet she defied all odds and expectations, blessing her family and community with 30 additional years filled with resilience, joy, and love.
Dani attended Clear Creek Amana Schools and found enjoyment in attending school over the years. Dani was accompanied to school by her sister Lisa, who was also her primary caretaker throughout her life.
Dani had a deep and lasting love for Disney movies, especially Frozen and enjoyed a wide variety of music. She was drawn to items that made sounds or lit up, as well as soft, comforting textures she could hold and feel. Though Dani did not communicate verbally, she expressed herself through a radiant smile and an infectious laugh that brought joy to everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
Dani is survived by her siblings, Julie Mougin, Bobby (Misty) Herring, Chris Herring, Lisa Herring, Kimberly (Steve) Askam, Anthony Herring, Melissa Herring and honorary sister Dea (Jeff) Stratton, along with 25 beloved nieces and nephews, 21 great-nieces and nephews and numerous extended family and friends.
Confined to a wheelchair throughout her life, Dani is now free from those earthly limitations and has joined her parents in Heaven, along with her grandparents; several aunts and uncles; her niece Brittany Herring and her nephews Marco Mougin and Noah Herring.
