Daniel Shane "Shane" Abernathy, 54, of Anniston, Alabama, passed away on October 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Shane leaves behind his devoted wife, Lea Anne Abernathy, and his cherished son, Holden Abernathy. He is also survived by his sister, Paige Caldwell; nephew, Bradley Caldwell; nieces, Sarah Caldwell and Caroline Caldwell; and his mother-in-law, Bonnie Walker.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Janice Kiker Abernathy and Ralph Abernathy, and his father-in-law, Earl Walker.
Known for his quick wit, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty, Shane lived life with integrity and humor. Whether spending time with family, cheering on his son, or lending a helping hand to others, he made a lasting impact on all who knew him. Shane was a man of quiet strength and deep compassion, whose warmth and friendship will be dearly missed.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at White Plains Community Cemetery on Rainbow Dr in White Plains.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to Shane's heart.
