Daniel Ade Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel - Monrovia on Jan. 7, 2025.
Daniel Earl Ade, 70, of Indianapolis, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, while surrounded by his loved ones in the Roudebush VA Medical Center. He was born in Berea, OH, on May 30, 1954, to the late Paul Charles and Ruth Marie (Leib) Ade.
Dan, the son of a Reverend, and his family moved around during his childhood before settling in Indianapolis. Dan was a devoted son who had a close bond with his mother. A free spirit from a young age, he packed a bag and hitchhiked to Woodstock, but didn't quite make it in time. Dan graduated from Ben Davis High School, and after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant.
Dan enjoyed collecting stamps and turtles in his free time, building model ships, fishing, and more. He was an avid sports fan and loved his Indianapolis Colts and The Ohio State Buckeyes Football. His daughter lovingly referred to him as a hippy and loved sitting around watching old TV shows with him. Above all, he loved his daughter and left an indelible mark on the lives of all he touched. He loved visits and phone calls from loved ones and enjoyed his independence until the very end. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly celebrated.
Dan leaves behind his daughter, Allison Ade of Monrovia; brothers, Ron Ade (Kathie) of Atlanta, GA, Don Ade (Nancy) of Port Charlotte, FL, and John Ade of Rocky Fork Lake; brother from another mother, Bill Richardson (Melinda) of Indianapolis; and a large extended family and many friends.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia, and Dan will be inurned in Crown Hill National Cemetery in the spring.
