Funeral services for Mr. Daniel Hernandez Ayala, Sr., 82, of Carthage, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Andrea Kimberlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home.
Mr. Daniel Hernandez Ayala was born January 12, 1941, in Dallas, Texas. He passed this life peacefully at his home surrounded by his family September 2, 2023. Mr. Ayala was born to the marriage of Rafael Ayala and Juanita Hernandez. He was raised and schooled in Rusk, Texas. Daniel married Louisa Martel July 27, 1961, and they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Mr. Ayala was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker before his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather to his large and loving family. He loved the outdoors, mowing, bow hunting, fishing and any time on the Sabine River. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, five brothers and a grandson, Martin Rafael Perez, Jr.
Mr. Ayala is survived by his loving wife, Louisa Ayala; children, Rosalinda Rivera and husband Paul Jimenez, Sandra Lavender and husband David Sr., Esther Ayala Hinson and husband Walter Willbanks, Isabell Gibbs and husband Isreal, and Daniel H. Ayala, Jr. and wife Kelly; sisters, Mary Helen Gonzales and husband David, Bertha Leija, and Sarah Barrintos; 25 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandson, Alexander Atkiels; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Daniel Ayala III, David Lavender Jr., Brian Hinson Jr., Marcus Ayala, Jonathan Padron, and Cristian Padron. An online guestbook may be signed at www.hawthornfuneralhome.com
