Daniel Bamberry

     Daniel George Bamberry was born on February 21, 1942, in Parma, Idaho to parents David George and Lois Grace (Bonner) Bamberry. The family moved to Lewiston, Idaho where Dan grew up and graduated from high School in 1960. Dan then hitched a ride with his sister and her husband to Kansas City. He went to western Kansas and worked in the wheat field and then back to Kansas City where he joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1960 to 1964. Dan ended up at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha and he met Lorraine Kral from Crete, Nebraska. These two were married and to this union four children were born. The couple moved to Los Angeles and then back to Crete, Nebraska where Dan worked at a feed mill. He then moved back to Los Angeles where he attended LA Trade Tech and studied to be a machinist. Dan worked at a big machinist shop in LA. He later moved back to Idaho and attended Lewis Clark State College and received his teacher’s certificate. The couple moved to Nebraska and Dan taught for a few years before he went to work for HUD in Omaha for 39 years. Dan met Marijane Jacob at work and the two were married in 1991.

     Dan was a member of the Woodbine United Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, woodworking, stained glass, camping and traveling.

     Dan died on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at his home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 83 years, nine months and 20 days.

     Dan was preceded in death by his parents; sister Dorothy; and brother, Donald Bamberry. He is survived by his wife Marijane Bamberry of Woodbine, Iowa; four children, Denise Bamberry of Florida, David Cambron Bamberry and his wife Tami of Birmingham, Alabama, Dana and her husband Chris King of New Mexico and Devona and her husband Shane Savage of Council Bluffs, Iowa; three step children, Virginia and her husband Tony Smith of Woodbine, John Jacob and his wife Laura of Montana and Arts Jacob and his wife Kim of Woodbine; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; one sister, Mae Kleete of Cut Bank, Montana; and many other relatives and friends.
