Edgar Bamberry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hawker Funeral Home - Blackfoot on May 1, 2025.
Edgar James Bamberry, 88, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 26, 1936, in Emmett, Idaho, to William and Ethel Bamberry. He lived most of his life in Idaho, with brief periods in Wyoming, Montana, New York, and the Philippines. He attended Idaho State University for two years before beginning a lifelong career as an ironworker. He later served as the Business Manager for Ironworkers Local 732 and was a proud member of the Building Trades. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and building. He was a man of quiet strength, known for his dedication to family and hard work.
Jim married his beloved wife, Marie C. Fuentes, in Cabadbaran, Philippines. They enjoyed splitting their time between the Philippines and Blackfoot for many years. Together, they enjoyed weekly get-togethers with friends and family, swimming in the ocean, and traveling with their daughter Kirsten. One of Jim's favorite traditions was entering weekly ice cream raffles with Kirsten, and they often walked away as winners. They also enjoyed spending time in their yard gardening, growing flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees. He was previously married to Gleda Bamberry, who passed away in 1990.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; his children: Debbie D. Roedel and her husband Richard of Nampa, ID; Derek J. Bamberry and his wife Karen of Minot, ND; Deidra G. Hansen and her husband Douglas of Pocatello, ID; and Kirsten F. Bamberry of Blackfoot, ID. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Clemm of Troy, ID.
Jim has nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gleda; his parents, William and Ethel; his siblings, Bill Bamberry and Freida Clements; and his grandson, Jacob Hansen.
A celebration of life will be held July 26th with time and location to be announced at a later date.
