Daniel Bern Obituary
Graveside services will take place Friday, June 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Scandinavian Cemetery in Alta, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Alta is in charge of the arrangements.
Daniel Joseph Bern was born April 9, 1978 to Perry and Dawn (Erickson) Bern in Sioux City, Iowa. In 1996, Daniel graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City. He went on to attend Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa with an English major. Most recently, Daniel worked in sales.
On June 1, 2013, Daniel was united in marriage to Terrin Bern at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. The couple was blessed with two children: Tilman Joseph and Reagan Marie.
Daniel was a member of the Albatross Rugby Club and was a Notre Dame Football fan. He loved attending his children's extracurricular activities and enjoyed time spent camping with family and friends. Daniel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Daniel is survived by his wife: Terrin Bern of Alta, Iowa; children: Tilman Bern and Reagan Bern of Alta, Iowa; brother: Darrick (Dara) Bern of Levittown, Pennsylvania; grandparents: Herb and Elaine Scheele of Huron, South Dakota; parents-in-law: Dave (Barb) Hansen of Storm Lake, Iowa; brothers-in-law: Jace (Christian) Hansen of Memphis, Tennessee; Will Hansen (Maggie Anderson) of Ankeny, Iowa; nieces and nephew: Emma Grace and Olivia Hansen; Teagan Bern; and Logan Toles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill and Donna Bern; father: Perry Bern; and mother: Dawn Erickson.
