Daniel Wesley Buddle

Daniel Buddle (Dan the Barber), 56, of Springfield Center, Passed away peacefully at home early on Saturday morning June 8th, with his wife Donna and Aunt Chris by his side. Dan was born February 6th, 1968 in Cooperstown, NY to Wesley and Linda Buddle. He grew up in the Springfield Area, attending Springfield Center School, Suny Cobleskill, and SUNY Oneonta, Graduating with a business degree. Dan was employed as a contract driver with the US Postal Dept. for 15 years, making many friends along his route. He then completed a program to obtain his barber's License. For 18 years, he spent many happy hours at Dan's Barbershop. Due to illness he recently had to close his shop. In 1992, Dan and his wife Donna met on a blind date and enjoyed a life together for 32 years. He liked collecting antiques, especially Texaco signs and logo, which he displayed proudly in his shop. Dan was predeceased by his mother, Linda Buddle, his father in-law, Floyd Shepard, his uncle, Allan Buddle and his good friend and mentor, Larry Thompson. Dan is survived by his wife, Donna Buddle, his father, Wesley Buddle, his sister, Wendy (Mike) DePaolo, his brother, Dale Buddle, his mother in-law Natalie Hawley, his sisters in-law Diane (Tom) Mille, and Robin (Paul) Torgerson. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his cousin and good friend, Tim Fish. He is also survived by his beloved feline friends, Bootsie, Pringles, Garfield and Mittens. Family and friends may call and pay their respects from 11am – 1pm, Saturday, June 15th, 2024, at the Ottman Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Cherry Valley, NY. At 1 p.m., a memorial service will be offered at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Fralick officiating. Internment in the Springfield Cemetery will follow. Arrangements are under the care of the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley with cremation taking place at The Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley.
