Daniel Byron Case, 53, beloved son, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends on July 28, 2025, in St. George, Utah. He lived happily with his family his whole life in Magna, Utah and then St. George, Utah.

Dan is survived by his mother, Carol Harsh Case; his sisters: Carolee (John–deceased) Neel, Andrea Hill, Heather (Rob) Passey and foster sister, Cindy (Ray) Price. He is lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his favorite pal and father, Lee Case; his half-brothers: Ed and Bob Case; and his grandparents: Byron & Lelia Harsh and Leo & Ina Case.

Dan was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was ordained an Elder in the Priesthood. He loved his family, his Heavenly Father, and his Savior and Friend, Jesus Christ above all else. Through his church he served a service mission. He was a ministering brother, the most cheerful sacrament service greeter, and ward choir member. He attended Special Needs and Angel Mutual, which he loved.

Dan attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He participated for many years in the Special Olympics, graduated high school and seminary. He attended the Rise workshop for special needs people and enjoyed their activities and created many crafts which decorate his home. He was currently a member with a group of his peers called "The Players", which performed skits on handicap awareness directed by Rita Longstreet. He worked for 24 years at ACE Hardware and his title was "Official Box Crusher". For 20 years he was the #1 fan of the Huntsman World Senior Men's Outback volleyball team, becoming their mascot. When they got a medal….he got a medal!

Dan loved attending community sporting events of all kinds, especially the Utah Tech women's volleyball and softball teams. He loved playing church basketball and had the winning shot at a regional tournament, bringing home the MVP trophy. He loved playing football at the park with his family, and he was fast! He participated in a Special Needs Bowling League and insisted on purchasing his own equipment; bag, ball, socks, shoes, wrist brace and his shirt reads on the back "Dan the Bowling Man".

His appetite for cultural and community events could not be satisfied. He so enjoyed plays, musicals, concerts, band performances, fairs, festivals, tournaments, St. George LIVE, the Dickens Festival, sing-ins, and of course any and all things Phantom Of the Opera. He wanted to attend them ALL.

Dan was everyone's "Buddy", greeting them with a smile, fist bumps, and asking "How ya doing, Buddy?"

The family wishes to thank with all their hearts the Rise staff, Angel Mutual, the ward members from multiple wards, many community members that interacted with Dan and lastly, the professionalism of the entire hospital staff who treated Dan and his family with such love, tenderness, concern and deep compassion.

Dan will never be forgotten, as he touched each one of our lives for the better. He loved deeply and was a precious soul with no guile. Thank you for your many prayers and outpouring of love. We have felt them and the peace. We are heartbroken but celebrate that he is home!!

In lieu of flowers, love as he loved! Pay it forward, smile at someone today, give them a fist bump, and ask them "How ya' doing, buddy?"

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with a viewing prior from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mulberry Chapel, 3381 Mulberry Drive, St. George, Utah. Interment will follow in the St. George City Cemetery located at 600 East Tabernacle Street.

Those unable to attend are invited to view the services at the following link: Livestream. passcode: 80070.

Had some great times with Danny as a kid. Along with sisters Carolee and Andrea growing up. He was a sweet spirit indeed. He sure got a lot done. That´s for sure. This earth will miss him. Jeff Case.

I love the Case family! Lee, Carol and Dan. I was always happy when I saw them. I became acquainted when I was a member of the Southern Utah Heritage Choir and Lee joined the choir. They had previously lived in Magna, Utah and my cousin, Stanley Hunt and Lee worked together at church. When they moved to St George my Stan and my sister were visiting me when Stan recognized Lee in the Choir. That was the beginning of my friendship with the Case family. Dan was always there with a great big smile which brought a smile to everyone else. I live in Enterprise and on Pioneer Day our community always has a celebration in honor of the pioneers. Carol and Dan often came to the parade and program. I looked for them this year and was disappointed when I did not see them. A few days later I learned of Dan's passing. My heart is sad for Carol but I am happy for Dan and Lee.
