Daniel B. Cawley III passed away from this world on Thursday, July 24th surrounded by the love of his three daughters.

Dan was born and raised in his beloved Marietta, OH to Mary Jane Gavin and Daniel B. Cawley II. He was one of the 8 Cawley kids that grew up on Washington Street. There was never a dull moment at their home and it was open to everyone.

Dan was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

He married Peggy Ann Moore on October 30th, 1965. Dan took amazing care of Peggy with a smile for the last 18 years of her life, never leaving her behind.

His career started as a funeral director for the first Cawley family business, the Cawley Funeral Home. He went on to help his family lead a successful furniture business with Wieser & Cawley that was in operation for over 130 yrs.

Dan was a WONDERFUL father and best friend to his three daughters- Kelli, Danielle, and Cortney. He loved being Pops to his grandchildren- Gavin, Abbie, Maxwell, and Rex.

Dan believed in investing in future generations and demonstrated this in his community. He started the Teen Center that later developed into the Marietta Kids Club and worked to establish a local chapter of the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County.

Dan was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time at his 2nd home, the MCC Golf Course. He always had a kind word and advice for your golf game.

Dan is survived by his 3 daughters, 4 grandchildren, sons-in-law (Gene Hollins, Doug Hodge, and Eric Beymer), sister Janie Wittekind, sister Betsy (Barry) Thrift, and numerous nieces and nephews, and friends that were like family.

The family would like to give a special thanks to caregivers Nancy Kroft, Ashley Richards, Jonna Jackson, Shelly Mayer-Ginnocchio, Martha McGovern, and Cawley Hospice.

Mass will be held at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption on Saturday, August 9th at 2pm with a celebration of life at the Marietta Country Club immediately following.

DAN'S WAS A LIFE WELL LIVED WITH LOVE AND KINDNESS.
