Daniel Montoya Celaya, known to loved ones as Danny, passed on February 6, 2024, in his hometown of Alpine, Texas

Born on April 6, 1989, in Alpine, Texas, Danny's presence illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. As we reflect on his journey and the impact he had on all who were blessed to cross paths with him, we celebrate the life of a remarkable individual.

Danny began his educational pursuits at Alpine High School, where his passion for learning and intellectual curiosity shone brightly. After graduating from high school with a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for personal growth, he furthered his education at Sul Ross State University. It was during this time that Danny's unwavering dedication and commitment to academic excellence became evident.

Danny achieved great heights by earning his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. His determination and perseverance were an inspiration and while Danny's academic achievements were awe-inspiring, he also had a love of fast cars, losing himself in video gaming, and the excitement of UFC fights. Danny was always available for good food with good friends.

Deeply cherished by family and friends alike, Danny held a special place within their hearts. He leaves behind fond memories shared with his beloved father Daniel Celaya and mother Maria Montoya. The family bond held dear by Danny was further strengthened through the love and laughter shared with his aunts Lupe Hoffman and Rita Ingram, as well as his uncles Tony Hess and Karl Hess. Danny's cousins Amber, Andy, Zeke, Elijah, Cole, JR., and Kara were fortunate to call him their family.

Danny is preceded in death by his uncles; Freak Chavarria and Jose Montoya and reunited in Heaven with his beloved Boston terrier, Woody.

As we bid farewell to our cherished friend, mentor, son, cousin, and confidant, the legacy of Daniel Montoya Celaya will continue to thrive within the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In this time of sorrow and loss, let us gather together to honor Danny's memory and find solace in the memories we shared with him. Though he may no longer be present physically, his spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives.

A visitation for Daniel will be held Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at 5:00 PM with a rosary to follow at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home in Alpine, Texas. Mass will be held the following day on Friday, February 16th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with internment to follow at Holy Angels Cemetery.
