Daniel Lee Clay, age 56, of Syracuse, IN, passed away at 11:55 am on Monday February 23, 2026, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital, Warsaw. Born on June 7, 1969, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Robert and Juanita (Franks) Clay.

Dan attended Warsaw Community High School and graduated with the Class of 1987. He worked as an orthopedic polisher for L H Medical, Fort Wayne for over 10 years and most recently at DeGood Dimensional Concepts, North Webster. On May 15, 2006, he married Jody Cunning in Florida.

Dan was a member of SCCA Car Club. He enjoyed kayaking, camping, live music, cars, and having fires at the lake.

Survivors include his wife Jody Clay of Syracuse; daughter Brittany Clay of Fort Wayne; stepchildren Cory Parrett of Larwill and Amber Parrett of Columbia City; brothers David (Mindy) Clay of Seymour, IN and Steve (Brandi) Clay of Taylor, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Dan will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday March 2, 2026, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling from 1:00-4:00 pm prior to service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Dan may be made to DeMoney Grimes towards final expenses.
