Daniel "Dan" Lee Cornelius

Daniel Lee Cornelius, age 70, of Marion, passed away on December 24, 2025. Dan was born on June 20, 1955 and married Elizabeth Lorge on June 22, 1974 in Bear Creek. Together Dan and Liz raised three children: Paul (Julia) Cornelius, Connie Samson, and Danielle (Paul) Jansen. Dan has 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dan is further survived by his mother, Stella; brothers: Dave, Doug (Julie), Dean (Dawn); sisters: Sandy (Howard) Thomack, Cindy (Phil) Buttles; in-laws: Joeline Lorge, Pat (Mike) Wilson, Mary Ann Gregory, Tom (Linda) Lorge, and Jane Hensler.

Dan is preceded in death by his father, Bernard; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Ruth Lorge; son-in-law, Bill Samson; brother, Dennis Cornelius; sister, Sue Larson; and in-law, Susan Cornelius.

Dan was a man that enjoyed fishing with his grandkids, teaching the kids how to take care of the neighbors lawn and hunting land. In the fall and winter Dan loved hunting with the grandkids, teaching them how to process the harvest, sharing the venison sausage and cheese curds with anyone that would have a conversation with him.

A memorial gathering will take place on January 10, 2026 from 10:00 AM until a prayer service at 11:00 AM with a meal to follow at St. Mary's Fellowship Hall (301 Tielky Street, Bear Creek, WI).
