David Schlosser Obituary

Visit the Newcomer Funeral Home - Green Bay website to view the full obituary.

David C. Schlosser, 70, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at Angel's Touch Assisted Living. He was born on April 16, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Carl and Estelle (Kasky) Schlosser.

David earned his master’s degree in engineering from Villanova University and devoted most of his professional life to the water and sewer industry. Through his work in public service, he contributed to the essential systems that support and strengthen communities — work he approached with intelligence, dedication, and integrity.

David had a deep love for the outdoors. He found peace on hiking trails, around campfires, his kayaking trips in the Florida Keys, and his annual fishing trip with his buddies, always appreciating the quiet beauty of nature. An avid reader, he was endlessly curious and thoughtful, often diving into books that sparked reflection and conversation.

He was known for his sassy, feisty spirit and sharp wit. David did not always aim to charm a room — but those who knew him well understood his loyal heart, steady presence, and playful sense of humor. He loved to laugh and especially enjoyed joking and sharing stories with friends, neighbors and family.

David also held a special place in his heart for Africa. He cherished his visits there, and the orphanage he helped build was particularly meaningful to him. Being part of something that created opportunity and hope for children left a lasting impact on his life.

David was blessed to have the Strayer family as his second family. He is survived by his dear friends, Raquel and Greg Strayer; their sons, Branden (Kim) and Austin (Khala); and their grandchildren: Harper, Easton, Henry and Mabel Strayer. He cherished being part of their lives and found great joy in watching the children grow. Dave also held a special place in his heart for his friend, Rachael Kalama, and her son, Ian Le Sure and his other friends in their Kenyan community.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 413 St. John Street, Green Bay, from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. David will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn, Pennsylvania.

A special thank you to the staff at Angel’s Touch Assisted Living and Unity Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
